The facilitation course is a training program designed to teach individuals how to facilitate group discussions, meetings, workshops, and other types of collaborative activities. The course provides participants with a range of skills and techniques that enable them to create a supportive and productive environment for group interactions.

The course cover topics such as communication skills, group dynamics, problem-solving techniques, conflict-resolution strategies, and decision-making processes. Participants will learn how to engage all members of the group, manage difficult personalities, and create an inclusive and respectful atmosphere.

The course also covers specific facilitation techniques, such as brainstorming, consensus-building, and strategic planning. Participants learn how to tailor these techniques to specific group needs and goals, and how to use them to achieve desired outcomes.

Facilitation courses may be offered in-person or online and may vary in length and intensity depending on the level of training required. You will receive a certificate for professional learning (CPD) accredited by the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA). This course is Module 1 of two Modules. If you complete Module 2 and the associated SETA assessment then you will qualify for a SETA Accredited Certificate for Facilitation.

This innovative course empowers Environmental Health Practitioners (EHPs) to apply the Participatory Hygiene and Sanitation Transformation (PHAST) methodology across diverse environmental health domains. While rooted in Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) interventions, the PHAST model's participatory and community-driven approach is highly adaptable to critical areas such as food safety, air quality, climate change, and waste management.

Participants will learn how to design, implement, and evaluate health promotion interventions that are both inclusive and impactful. The course also emphasizes the ethical dimensions of environmental health practice, enabling practitioners to navigate complex challenges with professionalism and integrity.

This CPD-accredited course equips Environmental Health Practitioners (EHPs) with the knowledge and skills to play a pivotal role in combating Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs). By exploring global and national frameworks, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the policies, strategies, and practical interventions necessary to address the environmental and social determinants driving NTDs.

The course emphasises the critical role of EHPs in disease prevention and management, providing actionable insights to support public health outcomes. Participants will also engage with ethical considerations to ensure their practice aligns with professional standards and the principles of equity and justice in healthcare.
